Monthly landings of marine fish by state and coast from 2018 to 2023.
0 views·0 downloads
Data on landings of marine fish in Malaysia is collected via establishment-level surveys and censuses conducted by the Department of Fisheries (DOF). Accordingly, this data reflects the production of establishments registered with the DOF only. In layperson terms, this means that the fish caught by individuals fishing for personal consumption are not included in this data.
It should be noted that W.P. Kuala Lumpur and W.P. Putrajaya are excluded from the data as they do not have coastlines. Classification by coast and state is conducted based on the location of where the fish was landed, not where it was caught or the registered address of the establishment. In general, fisheries data for Malaysia is published based on landings, not catches.
National totals may be slightly different to the sum of state values due to rounding.
